Description
By default, a weekly tour starts on Saturday mornings. But there is also a possibility to book a pre-stay, at an additional cost, then you can come on board on Friday evening. After receipt and introduction, the necessary safety instructions and explanations about the operation of the sails, swords, winches and lines on board follow.
Depending on the weather forecasts and your wishes, we can then see what kind of trip we can sail that week. With a week trip it is possible to visit several Wadden Islands. Under favorable conditions we can dry out or, for e.g. make a trip over the North Holland canal. Since we leave from Enkhuizen, we naturally also visit some IJsselmeer ports. Depending on your ideas, we can make a fantastic tailor-made trip in almost all cases.
On Sunday you will come on board in Enkhuizen and get acquainted with the ship, the crew and your travel companions.
Your sailing trip starts on Monday. The sails are hoisted and the ship sets course, for example to the Frisian coast.
On Tuesday you sail towards the Afsluitdijk. After the ‘fence’ in the lock at Kornwerderzand, the salty Wadden area is ahead. This is the largest contiguous nature reserve in Europe. The night will take you through the port of Harlingen.
On Wednesday you will head towards Terschelling, a cozy island with a beautiful forest and dune area. Along the way, you sail along dry sandbars where seals regularly sunbathe.
On Thursday you will sail to Medemblik, a cozy medieval town.
On Friday it will be all hands on deck’ for the last time, before the ship docks again at the boarding port at 4 p.m.
This itinerary is an example and depends on the weather conditions and your wishes!
