Always wanted to participate in a sailing race with at least thirty big clippers and tjalken? That is possible on board the Johanna Engelina during Muiderhardzeildagen.
Since 1977, summer sailing has ended in the last weekend of October with two days of competitive sailing from Muiden. After the competition during the day there is a party in the evening in Muiden with live music and award ceremonies. But also on board the Johanna Engelina we serve a delicious meal with music and beer on Saturday after the finish. Plenty of time to share all the strong sailor stories. And for those who stay at home the opportunity to taste the atmosphere.
If you really want to experience this spectacle, sail with us! You don’t have to be an experienced sailor to participate in these competitions. The crew will be happy to take you under her wing.

Description
In the last weekend of October, the Muider Hardzeildagen take place. Experience this unique sailing competition at the end of the season from the two-mast clipper Johanna Engelina, especially for individual steppers:
Between 09:00 and 09:30 we will welcome you on board the Johanna Engelina if you choose a single day. If you choose the whole weekend, we will receive you on the Friday evening at 20:00.
From Muiden we set sail for the IJsselmeer where the participating ships have already gathered.
After the starting shot, the race will start and you will witness the battle between different ships from traditional sailing during the day. Of course we also hoist the sails under the supervision of the crew and you can assist with this as well as when crossing.
Around 16:30/17:00 we approach the port of Muiden again after the first ships have crossed the finish line and we moor and you disembark.
Johanna Engelina
The Johanna Engelina is a 38-metre sailing clipper. Built in 1897 and with approx. 800m2 sail on board. All competitions can accommodate up to 33 people. Accompanied by an experienced crew, you will have the chance to experience a very spectacular event. Sailing experience is not required, conviviality is. Every competition also involves an experienced cook. Because with an empty stomach you can’t sail!
The Johanna Engelina is an original Zeeland two-mast clipper. The ship is equipped with a spacious deck for sunbathing or helping with sailing. Below deck you will find a cozy day care, attractive huts and a well-equipped galley.
