Interior of Clipper Johanna Engelina — 10 Cabins, Saloon & Galley

Back when ships were still made of wood and men of iron. Yes, in those days you slept in a hammock — or, if you were lucky, on a straw mattress. Although the Johanna Engelina is a historically authentic ship, in certain respects we have moved with the times.

For a start, you no longer need to be made of iron. There are 33 comfortable bunks (sailors' term for beds) built in across 10 cabins. Every cabin has a washbasin with hot and cold running water. The sanitary facilities comprise 3 showers and 3 toilets. Finally, the ship has a well-appointed galley with plenty of refrigeration, storage and even a proper beer tap.

All cabins are fitted with windows (portholes or hatches), ventilation and ample storage space for luggage. In addition, every cabin has its own adjustable central-heating radiator. Every space aboard the ship can be locked.

Thanks to the ship's generous dimensions, the interior could be laid out spaciously and you enjoy plenty of freedom of movement on deck. An added advantage is that the ship lies very steadily in the water, so seasickness rarely occurs. We sail you through the day in a sporty yet comfortable style. Under expert guidance, you experience a piece of Dutch history.
