Race Sailing
The Johanna Engelina participates in various sailing races for traditional sailing ships. All races include food, drinks, beer and wine.

Sail along in a real sailing race aboard a traditional sailing ship: you can do exactly that on clipper Johanna Engelina (1897). The racing season runs from the Pieperrace in spring to the Waddenrace in early November, with highlights such as the Enkhuizen Klipperrace (the Dutch championship of hard sailing for clippers), the Kuiper Brandarisrace from Harlingen to Terschelling, and the unique Beurtveer: five days of sailing without an engine.
We depart from historic harbours around the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea: Harlingen, Enkhuizen, Volendam, Hoorn, Muiden, Workum and Stavoren. No sailing experience is needed — skipper Laurens gives sailing instruction and divides up the team, so you sail along as a full crew member. Every race weekend can be booked individually from € 249 p.p., fully catered including meals, beer and wine. And because the Johanna Engelina is a hotel ship, you simply sleep on board — even after the party.
