Bluescruise 2026 — Sailing with Blues and Roots Music Harlingen–Terschelling

The Bluescruise is the festival weekend for lovers of blues, roots music and sailing. Three days aboard the historic clipper Johanna Engelina from Harlingen to Terschelling and back — with live music both on board and ashore. The Bluescruise is an annual event with a unique formula: the musicians sail along! Aboard the Johanna Engelina it is not only the guests who sleep, but the artists too. This creates an intimate, easy-going atmosphere you won't find anywhere else. And if you're lucky, the musicians will spontaneously pick up their instruments along the way for a mini boat concert on deck. The Bluescruise begins on Friday evening in Harlingen. Skipper Laurens welcomes you aboard the Johanna Engelina, after which the first blues notes already ring out from grand café Brouwdok — right on the quayside. A pub crawl through Harlingen with live blues and roots music sets the tone for the weekend. On Saturday morning after breakfast, skipper Laurens sets course for Terschelling across the Wadden Sea. Along the way you can join in the sailing or relax on deck while the music drifts across the water. On Terschelling an evening-long programme of blues and roots music awaits in the cafés and venues of West-Terschelling.
