The family sailing holidays are particularly pleasant. You will meet new friends, the children new boyfriends and girlfriends, therefore also very suitable for single-parent families. You eat together, experience everything with each other and there is plenty of time to exchange experiences with other parents. We sail on the IJsselmeer, the Wadden Sea, the Frisian Lakes and through North Holland.

For the children, it is an exciting adventure on a ship with a pirate past. During the sailing holiday, the very past of a deceased great uncle of the skipper is central. During the week the guests learn more and more and at the end of the trip we even dig up a treasure. The drying out, the visits to the Wadden Islands and Neerlands clean will leave an indelible impression from the water. Description

The family trips on board the Johanna Engelina are an experience for the whole family. During this week, sailing is interspersed with cycling, visits to different port towns and perhaps drying out. All in all an adventurous week with enough comfort and tranquility to get to know the Netherlands from a completely different side.

Sailing experience is not required for those who like to roll up their sleeves, the skipper and the mate are ready with instructions and tips. For those who want to take it easy, the spacious seating pit is an extremely safe and comfortable place to watch everything.

With a family trip, an extensive Wadden trip is possible, but also a visit to Friesland, a wander on the IJsselmeer or a route through North Holland. During the trip we will not sail all day but we will also create enough space to make dry bike rides and visit the various port towns.

In general, we throw the bunches loose at about 10:00 am and try to dock again between three and four o’clock in the afternoon..

On board are 6 four-person cabins, 1 triple cabin, 3 double cabins with hot and cold running water. Depending on the number of people you book with, a cabin will be assigned to you as suitable as possible.

Along the way, the ship’s cook will ensure that the inner man receives a lot of attention. On this trip, of course, a lot of attention goes to the children from we will certainly adapt sailing to that as well

The possibilities for this week are so versatile that an exact route cannot be mapped out in advance, but that you get a wide variety of destinations and experiences is certain. Below you will find two
possible
sailing trips.

7-day trip (14/08/2021 until 20/08/2021)

On 14 August you and your family will be welcome on board the Johanna Engelina at 10.00 am. The ship is then moored in the port of Enkhuizen on the Gependam.

After receiving lunch and meeting your fellow travel companions, the necessary safety instructions and explanations about the operation of the sails, swords, winches and lines on board follow. Next we will discuss what kind of trip we can sail this week, of course depending on the weather forecasts and the tide.

Then we set sail for Stavoren or Makkum where we arrive at the end of the afternoon. This day is mainly about getting to know each other and the ship.
On Sunday the crossing to the Wadden Sea will be made where we will go on the Wad at Kornwerderzand. In good weather we may be able to dry out and take a mudflat walk.
Monday will be a short sailing day, but with all the more time to explore Vlieland. Maybe we can rent bikes there and explore the island.
On Tuesday we go to Terschelling here you can shop extensively, cycle to the beach or take a walk through the woods and dunes.
